After seeing the trick, Gem Busters, Alan applied the idea to a logical effect-the mintin of coins. Johnson Products then created the method and the necessary apparatus. Having performed a series of coin effects, the magician offers to demonstrate how coins are made. From an elegant cloth bag you remove a small metal cube. The cube is covered with your empty hand and rubbed in a circular motion. Upon lifting your hand, the cube has changed into a perfect ball. The ball is now slapped with your hand, flattening it into a smooth metal disc. The disc is lightly polished with the bag and again pressed under your hand. This time the disc turns into a gleaming half dollar. Each change looks absolutely impossible.
